How to create Manual Dialer Win98/Win2000/WinXp/WinNT4.0?
Windows 95/98:
Double click on My computer. Double click on dialup networking. Double click on make new connection. Next screen appears and ask for connection name. If needed change the name.Click next. Type 0101307 in telephone number.Click next and press finish. Now right click on the newly created dialer and click properties. Remove the check from "Use area code and dialing properties". Click configure and click connection. Remove the check button from "wait or dial tone before dialing". Click advance. Write "x3" in Extra settings option. Click OK. Now click server type. From advanced option only select "Enable software compression" and from "Allowed network Protocol" select only "TCP/IP". Rest of the options will be disabled. Now click TCP/IP settings. Select Specify Name server address. Put for BOL: Primary DNS: 202.84.32.22 and Secondary DNS: 202.84.32.23. For Dhaka.net Primary DNS: 202.84.33.13 and Secondary DNS: 202.84.33.20
Click OK
The Whole process is complete
Windows 2000:
Double click on My computer. Double click on Control Panel. Double click on Network & Dialup Setting. Double click on Make new connection. Select Dial-up to the internet.Click on Next. Select I want to setup my connection manually. Click on Next. Select I connect through phone line and modem. Click on Next. Type phone number: 0101307. Type Connection Name: BOL. Click on Finish. Right click on newly created dialer BOL, click on Properties. Click on Configure and select Modem Maximum Speed 38400. Click on Networking Tab and Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Click on Properties. Select Use the following DNS Server addresses. Now Put for bol-online.com: Preferred DNS Server: 202.84.32.22. Alternate DNS Server: 202.84.32.23. Or Put for dhaka.net: Preferred DNS Server: 202.84.33.13. Alternate DNS Server: 202.84.33.20. Click OK and again OK. The Whole process is complete.
Windows XP:
Click on Start. Click on All Programs. Click on Accessories. Click on Communication. Click on New Connection Wizard. New Screen will appear, click on Next. Select Connect to the internet. Click on Next. Select Setup my connection manually. Click on Next. Select Connect using Dial-up modem. Click on Next. Type ISP Name: BOL. Type phone number: 0101307. Click on Next. Type email address in User Name box and login password in Password Box (Optional). Click on Next. Click on Finish. Right click on newly created dialer BOL, click on Properties. Click on Configure and select Modem Maximum Speed 38400. Click on Networking Tab and Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Click on Properties. Select Use the following DNS Server addresses. Now Put for bol-online.com: Preferred DNS Server: 202.84.32.22. Alternate DNS Server: 202.84.32.23. Or Put for dhaka.net: Preferred DNS Server: 202.84.33.13. Alternate DNS Server: 202.84.33.20. Click OK and again OK. The Whole process is complete.
Windows NT 4.0 Dial-Up Networking (DUN) Setup:
1. Click My Computer then Dial-Up Networking. One of three windows will appear:
a. If you already have a "phonebook" entry the DUN main panel will appear. If this is the case go to step 2.
b. If you do not have a "phonebook" entry a small window will appear giving the option of OK. Click OK and a DUN setup wizard will appear. Choose the option I know all about Phonebook entries... and click OK. From this point go to step 3.
c. If DUN is not installed a panel will appear giving information on installing DUN. Follow the directions, restart DUN and follow the steps above.
2. From the main DUN window click the New button to create a new DUN connection.
Otherwise click More then Edit entry and modem properties to edit the chosen existing connection.
3. From the setup book for editing or creating a phonebook entry click the Basic Tab and verify the following:
a. Entry name: Internet or "BOL".
b. Phone number: 0101307
c. Dial using: Your modem name should be in this field.
d. Click Configure and set the Initial speed (bps.) of your modem. Enable all 3 Hardware features and click OK.
Note: For the modem/port speed settings: 38400, 57600, and 115200 are safe settings for 14400, 28800, and 33600/56K modems respectively.
e. The settings under Alternates are not required.
4. Click the Server tab and choose PPP: Windows NT, Windows 95 Plus, Internet. Verify
only TCP/IP is checked and no other options. Click the button TCP/IP Settings are verify the following:
a. Server Assigned IP address is checked.
b. Specify name server addresses is checked with your DNS servers.
Now Put for bol-online.com:
Preferred DNS Server: 202.84.32.22
Alternate DNS Server: 202.84.32.23
Or Put for dhaka.net:
Preferred DNS Server: 202.84.33.13
Alternate DNS Server: 202.84.33.20
C. Use IP header compression and Use default gateway on remote network should be checked. Click OK.
5. Click the Script tab and verify none is checked.
6. Click the Security tab and verify Accept any authentication including clear text is checked.
Note: Click Unsaved Password here anytime you need to edit your logon info stored in the
Connect to box.
7. No options should be enabled in the X.25 tab so click OK.
8. You should be back at the DUN main panel. Verify the telephone number is listed correctly,
Your entry is chosen and click the Dial button.
9. The Connect to ... box will appear. Fill in the following fields as:
a. User name: Your User id (see the Note: below)
b. Password: password
c. Domain: leave blank
d. Click OK.
